The PS41 Pedestal mounting base incorporates a loadbearing socket into which the pedestal inserts. A 6-inch diameter hole is required to be cut into the mounting surface and approximately 5 inches is needed below the mounting surface to accommodate the socket. When the pedestal is not required, it can be removed from the base and a composite cover is secured to the opening. The base then has the appearance of a small hatch/access cover. In some applications, this feature serves to hide the true function of the system until it is needed.
