Military Systems Group, Inc. acquires the exclusive rights to the External Gun Mount System (EGMS), the Light Weight External Gun Mount System (LWEGMS), and the GAU-21/M3M Low Recoil Gun Cradle.
Nashville, TN, August 20, 2024 – Military Systems Group, Inc. (MSG) is pleased to announce the acquisition of the External Gun Mount System (EGMS), the Light Weight External Gun Mount System (LWEGMS), and the GAU-21/M3M Low Recoil Gun Cradle formerly held by CFD International. The EGMS is a highly versatile and battle-tested system designed for arming helicopters with a range of weaponry, including the .50cal M3M and GAU-21, M134, M240, and 14-inch NATO ejector rack options. Uniquely, the EGMS can be operated in a fixed-forward firing position or in a crew-served configuration without airframe modification.
Since the initial fielding in 2003, the EGMS has provided a critical capability to over 100 Pave Hawk helicopters flown by the U.S. Air Force’s Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) community. The EGMS has played a pivotal role in saving lives, while also providing reliable and cost-effective weaponization solutions for multi-role helicopters. In addition to serving the U.S. military, the next generation LWEGMS has also proven its value to allied partner nations, offering the same dependable and adaptable platform for their rotary-wing aircraft.
The acquisition of the EGMS product line marks a significant milestone in MSG’s ongoing growth within the aviation weapons mount market. This strategic move underscores MSG’s continued commitment to delivering innovative and effective solutions that enhance the warfighter’s capabilities across various air, naval, and ground platforms.
